Childcare Agency of the Month Questions
Introduction:

Congratulations to the Jewish Community Center Preschool on becoming Early Childhood Central's Agency of the Month for February!  This month we spoke with Sandy Scola, Director, about the Jewish Community Center Preschool where they have a state of the art facility and parents are always welcome to stop by.

What do you want the children in your care to gain while in your program?:

We provide a safe, nurturing environment that fosters self esteem, a sense of security and feelings of autonomy, success and freedom of expression.

What sets your Agency apart from the other area Agencies?:

70% of teachers have been here 10 plus years, we have a state of the art facility, swim lessons are part of curriculum, and a music teacher visits twice a week.

Do you have the resources to accept special needs children?:

Yes.

What is your Agency’s educational philosophy?:

We feel that learning is an interactive process in which children construct their own knowledge through active exploration of their environment and through child directed, teacher supported play. Our child centered curriculum is built upon observing and understanding each child’s individual observations.

Is there anything else about your Agency that you would like to be mentioned?:

We encourage families to come and visit. Observing in our classrooms is the key to showing our wonderful staff and very happy and busy children.
